Natalie Mena- POST 2

Group 1 had the chance to go last this time. They had a presentation based on Self-Care. Self-care comes in many different forms. When I took the time to search up what self-care meant, the definition that Google provided me with said ”the practice of taking action to preserve or improve one's own health.” I find this definition to be very straight to the point. Self-care can be physically, mentally, or emotionally improving your health. Now although this topic could be a pretty hefty topic to speak on because of how diverse it could be but Group 1 did a great job in including all of the important ideas as well as information. They also did a great job presenting all the information to us. They provided the information in such a manageable way which truly allowed the audience to have a clear understanding on what self-care is and what it looks like. They also provided us with examples on how we can add self-care to our day-to-day lives. Once again I have to give a round of applause to Group 1. Although this time around they were the last group to present they had their work done on time and were ready to go when it was the day of presenting. One thing I would like to add on is even though some of the group members had to present the rest of their part through zoom, they still showed up and still allowed us to capture the essence of what was presented. Their presentation was on point and very useful. They were really able to light up the room with the information on their topic once they got comfortable. Overall you could say Group 1 was the closing act for us and they ended it on a high note for the next group presentation/project we will have. They did a great job in their presentation and I look forward to seeing this Group again in further presentations and projects we have within this semester.

Group 2 had the lovely chance of going second to present, again. They a presentation based on healthy-eating. I loved their presentation and how detailed everything was. From pictures to explanations of different apps, everything was just great. Something I noticed since they first started presenting their presentation is how cohesive everything was. You weren’t even able to tell that multiple people worked on it, it seemed as though it was just one person that completed the entire project. This gave me a sign that this group had great communication skills during the entire time it took them to complete the project. They brought up great information in their presentation as well as new information to me and what could be to other people in our classroom. They had great presenters but one truly stuck out to me. I believe her name is Cindy but I could be completely wrong. She projected her voice to the classroom in such a sweet yet calming tone. Her performance up on the podium was amazing. You could really tell by the lack of her reading her slides, how much she researched her topic and how much she knew on it. All the information that was by her was solely from her and the knowledge she acquired from the chapters in the book as well as her presentation. Although she even told the class that she gets nervous when presenting, you couldn’t even tell. She did an amazing job regardless of the little bumps in the road she had to overcome to be able to provide us with such a great presentation alongside her other group members as well. Everyone in Group 2 did an outstanding job presenting this chapter as well as the topic of healthy-eating to us. I feel like I was presented all of the key components in an easy way to understand. All of the pictures on their presentation also helped to understand better. Overall, they did a great job in every aspect possible.

Now for the Group that I had the pleasure to work with again in this project and will continue to have the pleasure to work in for continuous projects, Group 3. Our group had to present on the theme “Paying it Forward”. This time we had to present first but we had over a month to put it together. Although I was a little bummed out when we got stuck with Paying it Forward because our group didn’t choose quick enough, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise for me. At first I thought Paying it Forward just meant to pay for the persons meal in front of you, but I was completely wrong. After doing so much research on this theme I learned so many different ways you could pay it forward to someone or something without even having to spend a dollar. Another key component was watching a movie based on watching it forward. Something I wasn’t able to do for the other groups I spoke about was providing a behind the scenes and what it was like to bring the project together. Since the moment we knew about our presentation we kind of slacked off. There were some bumps in the road unfortunately but we were able to solve them with the help of our Professor as well as communication in the group. I am very thankful for the team members I have, I know they are very hardworking and persistent. I know that for the next project we will try our hardest to make things a lot more smoother and understanding to others. Now for the presentation portion of our project I feel like we did great. We did a great job on time management giving the fact that our group is the biggest group in our class. We finished our presentation within a class and a half. The information in our power point was rich in information and details and was very easy for an outside reader point of view to understand and grasp a concept on our theme of Paying it Forward. Overall I am more than satisfied with my group as well as our group project.
