Arlyn Salcedo- Post 2

Let me just start off with how in love I was with this presentation's theme. My group had the topic of Paying it Forward and it was attached to a movie as well. When I watched the movie I felt that it was so heartfelt. It all started with one person and eventually reached a lot of people around the world. Paying it Forward is such a beautiful movement and I felt like I could've talked for hours on this topic while also incorporating some of my life experiences when it came to paying it forward. This had to be and will be my favorite topic of presentations of this semester. Now moving onto how the groups did this time around with the presentations.

Let's start off with Group 1. They were the last group to present this time around. Group 1 is a very small group but their presentation and study guide overall came out good. When they presented their study guide they really had me bored out and it was kind of hard for me to concentrate on what they were saying. For the study guide they basically just read everything I read from the board which is why it was hard for me to concentrate. Everyone in the group didn't use their presentation voice, they were all very monotone. No eye contact was made to the audience. When it came to presenting their themed presentation, they had to do it through Zoom and I feel like they did better than if they would've done it in person. I feel like they had a little bit more confidence this time around and they also gave really good information. This, again, was a very small group and they did everything in their power to do the best they could do. I'm very prod of them for the work they did. They pulled through and didn't give up.

Next up we have Group 2. Cindy presented both of her parts from the study guide and the themed presentation the first day the group had to present. You can tell that Cindy was a little nervous at first, but she kept moving forward and kept taking deep breaths. Overall she did a great job. She knew what she was talking about and really engaged with the audience. I really like how she incorporated her own experiences and grabbed everyone's attention. She gave awesome information and recommended some apps to everyone. On a side note though, she was very giggly and I loved her personality. Moving on to the rest of the study guide, the three people who presented the study guide on Chapter 5, didn't really elaborate much from the information they gave. Whatever they had on the document is what they said/read. They made no eye contact with the audience. Joseph did chapter 15 of the study guide and he did amazing. He is such a good public speaker and elaborated more than anyone in the class. He kept eye contact with everyone, and added personal experiences, and you can tell he was anxious but he didn't make it so noticeable. By the end of the study guide, the group kind of fell apart, but they did everything they could. Group 2's PowerPoint was really good and straight to the point. They read some parts off the board but they sure did elaborate a ton and gave me information that I didn't know of, like how the meal pyramid or MyPlate has been changed a couple times. This group really had the class entertained as there were people asking questions and making comments. They had me, personally, entertained and all the way through that I was barely able to write down any notes.

Lastly, we have my group, Group 3. We were the first ones to present this time around and I was honestly so disappointed with the work that we presented. My group waited till the very last minute to start working on anything. Not to mention, most of the group was very lost on what had to be done. There was a time in the couple weeks we had to complete this presentation, where the group kind of fell apart and I thought of just switching groups. I just decided to start on all my parts of the presentation to have them done. I knew I didn't really have to wait for anyone else because in the end it was all just going to be one whole presentation. I was only worried about my small group and made sure they were all okay and understood everything that they had to do. In the end however, everything was done and everyone presented their part. The first day that we had to present, we noticed that some slides have been changed by one of our group members and really messed everyone up. It was quite weird because it wouldn't even show us the name of the person as it seemed like they were signed in as a guest. What they did was very wrong and showed us that they don't know how to be a team player and confess to what they've done. That person simply should've just asked what needed to be done instead of changing other people's slides. However, I really liked how my part of the themed presentation came out. I was nervous but I didn't let that take me out. When it came to the rest of my group members to present, I was surprised and proud of what they presented. The only thing I felt was missing from the PowerPoint was more visuals and less words. I honestly wouldn't want to work with this group again after this semester. I just feel like this group doesn't have a sense of actually working together. We always try to find a time to all meet up in order for us to discuss everything we have so far and no one really makes the effort of trying to meet up. I feel like if we had everything planned out and used our time wisely, our presentation would be better than just being okay.

I am hoping that for the next and last presentation of the semester, my group works a little bit better and tries to do the best that they can. I'm excited to see what comes next and what we come up with.
