Andrea Molero - Post 2
Starting with group number 3, since
this time it was backward, and we started with this one. This is my group; we
had many difficulties along the way to get to the final day. We even had some
people who did not know what they had to do the same day as the presentation,
even though we were very persistent in trying to get everyone together and ensuring
everyone knew what they had to do. When we finally made it after a
day of delay we were in synch, everyone knew what had to be done, and in my
opinion, the presentation went pretty well. However, there was a moment when we
got interrupted by a member of one of the other groups, but even there, we were
able to get back on track seamlessly. Stephanie did a fantastic job making the
template for the brochure since no one else in the group actually knew how to
do it. The presentation was the same all throughout, showing how we tried our
best to do everything together and not separately and then put it together,
since that does make it look more professional. We started with the agenda and with
the chapter presentation, each of us talking and explaining a little bit about
what each chapter talked about to make it more understandable. After that, the
actual theme presentation was about Paying It Forward, I enjoyed the research
for the theme, and I especially loved finding different ways of paying it
forward that did not include any money, since there are a lot of people who
would love to help out to the community, but maybe do not realize they can do
more than enough just by donating your time and your kindness. The movie was
absolutely amazing, I had seen it before, but I definitely did not remember the
ending. It was so sad and made me really mad after watching it, but overall, a
great movie.
The second group was the second one, they started
strong with their agenda and their study guide about the non-verbal messages, they
all took turns explaining in the best way possible how these messages were so
important and how messages can be sent in something other than words, I found
it was extremely interesting. They also spoke about how you can deliver these
messages, and how there are different types of delivering different messages, like
for example, the informative and persuasive speaking. There were only 8 people
here in this group so considering how many different chapters they had, they
did an amazing job at dividing the parts. The way they did their study guide
was also really cool, it wasn’t like an actual presentation on PowerPoint, but
it looked more like a poster with different pages, which is original and looks
different. Then they talked about their theme presentation about healthy eating
and its link to happiness, which I think is such an important topic that should
be talked about much more than it is. People do not realize that these two are
so closely intertwined. The presentation they did was super smooth, they were
all in synch, they were confident, and knew what they were saying, and talking
about. I especially liked the part of the guy, whose name I cannot remember, he
said he was a vegetarian, and he gave a few little personal details that made
the presentation extra special. The PowerPoint per se was really nice, I think
it had a little too much text making it look a little crowded and you could get
lost while trying to read the actual presentation, but apart from that it was
really nice, it had a lot of pictures and it was seamless, it did not seem like
different people worked on it.
Lastly, was group one, they decided to
finish strong. They started off with their study guide, and explained it, again
being so few people, they were really good and doing their parts, and if I'm
not mistaken, they even had some people missing during the day of the
presentation. But they managed to make it without them, and they were great.
Their presentation about self-care I’m going to have to say was my favorite
since the theme is just amazing. They did an amazing job at the research, they
even did a few interviews that were so smart, organized, and original it also gave
some validation extra from outside people who gave their perspectives on the theme.
I think overall was a great presentation, their PowerPoint presentation was
really nice, it had a lot pictures and the actual template was cute, which always
makes it easier to understand.
Very good!
