Samantha Medal - Post 1

 Presentation 

  In the beginning when class started the presentation was due a couple a weeks later.  We are put in groups with random students, which we had to communicate with each other. As the classes goes by we manage to put a plan together to understand where we are in the group. Everyone shared their concern with the presentation and what was missing. Our leaders are very helpful to remind each one of us the dues and make sure everything was done as well having us all in the same page. The presentation is very helpful to get to know other students, we become more sociable. I truly do like that we get to socialize and it's not like just teaching straight forward. Overall the class and presentation were all great. 

Group One - They were the first group to present was great. They presented Chapter Three , which spoke about Intercultural Communication. The Power point was great and on point of their Chapter. It spoke about the communication between culture and how different they are from each other. The Chapter goes on to speak about different topics that many can relate too. I believe a girl who presented her slides about religion caught my attention. I was aware of religion at a young age in my household. She spoke about different religions and information about each one. As a student who knows about religion it was interesting to see it be spoken about and presented. Chapter Three also mention Sexual Orientation, many Culture don't speak upon it, it was also interesting to her that other countries are still not accepting those who aren't heterosexual.as they speak about  Group  One was confident and ready to speak . Two of the girls that are a part of that group were nervous about presenting and speaking towards the class but they ended up being good as well as the other students in group One. 

 Group Two -   They spoke about the different types of groups and other topics, I did enjoy learning something new. The topics were mostly groups and how different groups are. There are Healthy groups , there is virtual group, service group, and etc. The virtual group reminded me of when i first start class and it was pretty good. I enjoy learning about the groups and how important it is to have at times, especially when you’re missing class or needed help with a certain assignment from the class. Service group is where they help and are hands on their project. Interest group is the people having the same interest. Our groups are Interest groups we share something in common. In our class we are doing the same things and sharing ideas and strategies.In Miami we have support group such as LGBTQ, it may not be supported by all but its a very big community, Group One are the ones who spoke upon sexuality in the different. In those presentations between both  group one and two compliments each other.

Group Three- I was a part of group three, which we went last. We spoke about Leadership and what it is and other topics relating to Leadership. I enjoyed our presentation we shared a good amount of information. As a group, we were pretty much ready but also having some anxiety to speak to the class. We kept speaking among each other of how nervous and if we did a good job. My group was a bit chaotic just because we are the last and biggest group out of the others groups but we managed to have everyone do some subtopics , as well be on the same page. We communicated a lot about our assignments and kept each other in the loop and to make sure everything would be done on time and not last minute. We spoke about communication groups, before and after meetings, systematic problem solving, oral formats, written format and etc. Before and After meeting were interesting to me because i have meetings most of the time at my job. We as a class heard about the minutes that were wasted during a meeting and how much information is given through the meeting. I spoke about oral formats and examples of oral formats, which one of the example was giving a lecture, oral brief, oral report and etc. In my part of the presentation were mostly examples which i did learn that an oral report and oral brief are different. Oral brief is short and to the point but Oral report has more details in it and the process of saying it to someone else is longer. Overall I believe we did a good job each of our class groups with presenting and keeping ourselves informed during the class and communication thru our cellphones.

This class is very informative with each student in each group. I enjoyed speaking about the different formats in leadership. There was many topics spoken about through all of the power points. We must have learned something brand new or better understood throughout this process of being with people who are at random. After all, most groups have great communication and understanding of each other. We learn something together and speak about like a panel discussion. The discussion can be many things that we have doubt about and making sure those who do not know, knows what is exactly new and how to go forward on it. Overall Our groups have complimented each other throughout this presentation. All of us have been nervous and anxious to speak to one another, as well in the front of the class. Now that we know most of each we are able to communicate even better , as well as be present in each of our discussions and in our presentation will be on every point. I enjoyed throughout this class that we are always going to have someone to speak with in each of our groups and be able to get answers on our questions.
