My thoughts on the groups presentations

I had the opportunity to attend my classmates presentation from our Communications class leaded by our professor Ms.Sinkoff. The presentations were about all the aspects that involved communicating with other people in a working or studying environment, like being aware of our mates feelings, situations, tactics to get better at getting at our goals, etc.

I am going to be completely honest on how I felt before presenting I felt a little frustrated about my organization as a leader I think I could have done better, and help my group out even more. Getting to know my classmates was a good start to understand each other and how we could all succeed during this assignment. I feel very satisfied with my group members presentations and their performances, of course there is always space for improvement but overall they did great. I feel that I didn’t do very good, I feel if I have managed my time more properly I could have memorized my part of the presentation and just do it completely speaking without reading. I wish we could have communicated even more between all of us, hopefully we have more time in the future and we can become great friends. Now I am going to give a little about my thoughts on how the groups developed themselves through the presentation, their personal performances and develop of character.

Group number one opened up the presentations, I believe with a lot of tension because three friends are part of that group, I can recall some of them were nervous but super determined to give a good presentation. They went on with the chapter 3 intercultural communication giving more on the “liberal” sides of group development that is how I see it, and they had a very organized presentation, and had little inconveniences while presenting. They talked about getting to know your partners sexual orientation, which I don’t really like to bring into a professional space. They also brought culture which I do find very interesting because I like to get to know people from different cultures succeeding and uplifting American culture as well. They also brought up religion or beliefs that many people have and that may make people from a working space have some differences but getting to know each other above their beliefs makes them come together and work things out, just as my classmates did, they have never talked to each other and meeting for the first time and that I a big challenge, being the first group to present makes them be an example on how the other presentation would develop further, thankfully and proudly I can say they did a great job, each one of them were clear, they seemed to know what they were talking about, and si can even say they added a hint of passion while at it.

Now I can say that I have more friends because I have friends that were performing in group number two, which was wow outstanding mainly Joseph, I can be pretty sure it is not the first time he has presented in front of people. I saw him being very comfortable with himself and his topic, he wasn’t even reading any notes, he was speaking from his understanding on the subject which I find admirable and very emotional. I can also highlight my friend Greisy’s performance, because I know she does not like to speak in front of many people but she gave her all, and broke the barriers of comfort and safe zones and gave a very outstanding presentation. They did choose a very nice template and the slides were very organized with their color schemes being very suitable for their presentation. They were making a presentation about chapter nine which I learned more about types of groups, like families, social groups, service groups, virtual groups, etc. I had very little knowledge about it and thanks to them I had a better grasp on the subject which I hope I would still remember after college.

Now here it comes the good part, now I will talk about Group number three which is the group I was captain of.I consider me very blessed to have a group with good people, very interested and dedicated to our assignment. We were the biggest group out here which I find we had it more difficult than other groups since we had so much to organize, so much to preparation before the presentation. I thank to everyone in my group that gave their all to our presentation. I see than Nicole made a big effort by making sure all of us did our slides because she was the one in charge of the slides to look the same and we all had to make sure we sent her our slides. I do see one of my classmates was not able to access the link to the presentation on time and had problems with the theme of the slides, it was a little off but nothing that took away our light. I also remember I had two classmates that were not able to present with us, one was able to redeem her grade but my other classmate I honestly do not know how is she going to redeem herself, and I feel I lacked leadership on that part, which is funny since our presentation was about chapter 10, leadership roles and I remember my part was leadership roles on before and after meeting with your group. I can also remember I had a classmate to joint the class late and he was added to our group and I tones he could not join us in our presentation but I made sure he at least was aware of the upcoming assignment which is this blog and made him join our WhatsApp group and ask for my other classmates to send me their presentations so he could make the post and save his grade. Lastly I can say that I’m pretty happy with how our group ended up performing and thank to all of my classmates, I know we can do even better.
